About the Chums‎ > ‎

History

The Chums of Terrell Creek represent a community-initiated effort to protect and restore salmon runs and improve water quality in Terrell Creek. Beginning in 2003, residents and businesses in the Terrell Creek watershed partnered with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) to host volunteer work parties and other events designed both to raise awareness and to improve habitat along Terrell Creek.
Since the Chums and NSEA began rallying resources for the watershed four major barriers to fish passage have been removed and native tree and shrub buffers have been planted along nearly five miles of stream bank.
